Story
The Leeds City College Raise and Give (RAG) society is participating in Wear It Pink day! Breast Cancer Now's wear it pink day is one of the biggest fundraising events in the UK, and helps raise money to fund breast cancer research. There are around 55,200 new breast cancer cases in the UK every year; that's around 150 new cases every day.
What we hope to accomplish by holding this fundraising event is to earn as much as possible to fuel new developments in this area of science; to help get a better understanding of how to treat patients with this cancer; and get them the help they need to survive it.
Why are we doing this?
Because breast cancer is still here. It’s still tearing apart the lives of families and it’s still taking the lives of the women we love on a heartbreaking scale.
We will be wearing it pink this October. Will you join us?
How to participate:
Participating is simple, wear pink! There's going to be a prize to the person wearing the best pink outfit, so dress to the Nines! All campuses included, so the competition is fierce. The prize is a £20 voucher to Amazon.
When:
October 23rd, Friday.
If you're participating, It's encouraged for you to donate to our Just Giving page for Breast Cancer Now
