We fund long-term, sustainable research to find a cure for brain tumours

Story

Emma and her colleagues Hollie, Emma and Charlotte are teaming up to run the London Landmarks Half Marathon next March 2019.

In 2017, Emma L's mum got diagnosed with a brain tumour. Believed to be benign and currently on 'watch and wait'.

Following an invitation to the research laboratory at Derriford Hospital this year, Emma learnt a lot about what it means to have a brain tumour and the research being put in behind it to help find a cure and kill it.

With so little funding being received from the Government at just 1%, Emma was inspired to help raise money for the charity and assist them in making that difference.

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this disease. We are a leading voice calling for support and action for research into what is called the last battleground against cancer.
