Story
I’m walking (everybody’s welcome) from where I live in Ashby Suffolk to The Pleasure Beach in Great Yarmouth which is about 15k on 01/09/2018. My reason’s for the Walk are to Raise Funds for Papworth Hospital, where I have been a Patient on and off for over 25 years. I’ve been on Heart Transplant List several times over the years, having an Icd fitted in 2012 to having an Lvad inserted in 2015 to finally having an Heart Transplant on 30/12/2017.
It’s in Memory of 4 people, firstly my Kind Heart Donor, who I will be forever grateful, and 3 fellow Lvad users I have met over the last couple of years, and Sadly not with us any longer, Paul Rylands, Paul Barrell and Robert Copley.
Royal Papworth Hospital’s always ensurses that it puts patients and their families at the heart of everything it does. The Charity is committed to supporting patients and their carers and seeks to enhance the support it provides to the Hospital. Charitable funds have enabled the Hospital to provide care beyond that of NHS funding alone, enhancing the Hospital’s status as the UK’s leading provider of specialist cardiothoracic care and the country’s main heart and lung transplant centre.
