Story
I am very proud to have worked as a vet for the PDSA for the last five years. Having gained a place for the 2020 Marathon, of which covid has postponed numerous times, I look forward for finally (!) representing this amazing charity.
The PDSA (or People's Dispensary for Sick Animals) provides free or reduced-cost veterinary services to the pets of those most at need; whether it’s a single parent, a person with a disability or an isolated elderly person living on their own, the PDSA can help people & their pets from all walks of life and in all sorts of personal circumstances. The PDSA can ensure no pet goes without adequate veterinary care, no matter the financial situation of their owner. The charity also works hard to improve education on the fundamentals of pet ownership and animal welfare both to owners and in the community.
It costs over £60 million a year to run our 48 animals hospitals; the PDSA is entirely funded by public donations with no government funding. With the help of our amazing supporters, every year the veterinary teams are able to carry out 2.7 million treatments on 470,000 pets in need. The charity has been around for over 100 years and treated 20 million pets since 1917!
Please, please help support the fantastic work they do by donating to my page. I know every donation you make will motivate me to keep putting one paw in front of the other
