Fundraising for Rotary Club of Romsey Test Trust Fund

Southampton and Winchester Visitors Group (SWVG) is a group of volunteers who befriend and support asylum seekers. We provide emotional and practical support such as access to legal advice and health care and support travel fares. This is becoming increasingly vital as destitute asylum seekers are forced to travel up to 500 miles on a round trip to Liverpool in order to submit evidence supporting their claims. These individuals receive just over £5 a day from the Home Office.

Tim and I are doing this walk and with other colleagues from SWVG we intend to cover 500 miles to illustrate the journey asylum seekers have to make. The funds raised will be for our charity enabling us to continue our support these vulnerable people. Without our this assistance, they would not be able to make the journey, would not be able to submit their evidence and could end up being wrongfully deported.
80% of your donation goes towards SWVG and 20% to Rotary who provide transport first aid etc for the walkers.
