Story
Muzza and Lisa were 50 last year!!
How else do you mark such a significant milestone other than completing a jungle challenge overseas in aid of charity.
In November 2023, we will be testing our fitness levels and facing our fears and taking on the challenge of the Jungles of Madagascar, we will also be completing a Community Project for the local villagers!!
We will be raising funds for an amazing charity called NOAH, who support people who are homeless, rough sleeping or in severe poverty. We will tell you more about NOAH below.
We would like to ask for your support in sponsoring us, making it possible for us to raise these funds for our charity which is close to our hearts, if you help and care, NOAH can help and care too.
We both raised thousands for charity in 2018 trekking the rain forests of Borneo. This time we know what we have to contend with and its making it tougher already.
Lisa still has a fear of anything small (with scales, skin, fur or slime) that is crawling, flying, swimming, wriggling, hopping or breathing etc... she has experienced leech bites, and still doesn't like them or snakes. And spiders.... just forget it........ This time she has the added bonus of a new fear of heights which was discovered high up a mountain!
Luckily she has learnt to pee anywhere, so that's fine this time.... Lisa has to get fit and in shape to be strong enough to complete this challenge. this includes losing a couple of stone.
Lisa will be dedicating this challenge to her much loved late brother Paul, who suddenly passed away in February 2022, leaving her heart broken and also her father Graham, whom died of lung cancer, when he was just 45 and Lisa just a young teen. She will be waving her dads precious blue scarf and her brothers spotty sock, off the top of the summit of Pic Boby when she reaches it.
Muz sadly lost his father Michael in 2020 and wants to take on this challenge in memory of his dad. Muz will be testing his mental and physical strength. To complete the trek he will be increasing his training and fitness levels and ensuring he is fit enough to endure what lays ahead. He is looking forward to completing community project tasks in the village too.
Muz and Lisa will be joined by other like minded trekkers all supporting NOAH, and they will be completing this 12-day trip. The challenge includes 5 very hard days trekking through the Andringitra National Park, before helping at a community project.
The group will summit the islands highest climbable peak Pic Boby and neighbouring Chameleon Peak, its a tough trek but they will smash it. Not only will they be supporting NOAH, but they will also get the chance to give back to the Malagasy community that has hosted them. They will help out at a local community project, such as a school, with activities likely to include repainting, improving kitchen facilities, gardening and general maintenance.
