The statistics now say that 1 in 3 people will get cancer, and 1 in 2 know someone who has had it, but we never actually think it will be us, but it came knocking at my door in May and I had to face up to it.

I have had a fantastic team behind me who helped me deal with the ever changing diagnosis over the first 6 weeks; surgery in August+ removed the cancers from the breast and lymph nodes and I am now undergoing chemotherapy to improve my survival changes should it come back, I will then have radiotherapy to complete the treatment.

As it was always likely that I would loose my hair during chemo, I wanted to get something positive out of it and decided to shave my head for charity, I couldn't think of anything else I could do that would not impact on my daily living during treatment; Odyssey are a local charity who help people after treatment to restore confidence so it sounded like a good charity to support.

Staying as positive as possible throughout this chapter of my life has definitely been key for me, and my many friends who have supported both of us in so many ways has made this so much easier, we will never be able to repay them, and I am sure they will never fully understand just how much they have helped, so thank you one and all for all that you have done, and for sponsoring me on this chilly challenge!

I have never been a hat person until now, it's amazing how many different styles are out there!
