Despite being relied on by thousands every year, MR is entirely funded by donations. As you can imagine, climbing mountains or rock faces, wading in gorges and searching rivers requires a lot of kit. After sourcing the kit comes intense training for their volunteers in casualty care, using the kit and keeping their team safe. Working with the air ambulances and RAF, MR accesses places the land ambulances simply cannot get to. They are also instrumental in searches for missing people. All this means fundraising is very important.

MR is a charity close to our hearts as Michael has been volunteering with them for three years. On a more personal level, training in the Cairngorms mountains led him to choose them as the place for us to get engaged!
