Story

As you may know my sister, Sheena, suffers from Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME, also known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome; CFS).
ME is a long-term (chronic), fluctuating, neurological condition that causes symptoms affecting many body systems. M.E. affects an estimated 250,000 people in the UK, and around 17 million people worldwide. People with M.E. can experience debilitating pain, fatigue and a range of other symptoms associated with post-exertional malaise, the body’s inability to recover after expending even small amounts of energy.
As a result of this horrible illness, my sister has been bed-bound for several months and needs round the clock care from family. I aim to run 365 kilometres by November 2018, which will mark her 365th day of being bed-bound. This personal challenge by no means matches the struggle she faces each day, but I am raising money with the hope that more research can help us understand this debilitating illness better, work towards better treatment and early diagnosis. I would appreciate any donations to help support this charity on behalf of Sheena.
Action for ME is a charity which relies heavily on charitable donations. It works to boost much needed research and provides support and advice to ME sufferers and their families.
