Here is a little of our story x This is something that is very close to my Heart. I would never post anything like this if I didn’t know 100% how worthwhile a cause this is. My daughter was very ill when she was born and had an incredibly rare immuno-deficiency that ultimately resulted in her needing a bone marrow transplant that would have to be conducted within a sealed ‘bubble’ unit at the Great North Children’s hospital in Newcastle. There are only two places in the UK that this sort of procedure can be done, Great Ormond Street in London and in Newcastle.Unfortunately Lorelei passed away when she was 13 months old after having her transplant and spending almost two months on the ‘bubble’ ward.The bubble ward is sealed from the outside world, Lorelei had to be confined to a single room because she had such a high risk of infection, and for us to see her we would pass through 3 Separate air locks.Me and my partner spent every day with Lorelei in her room sealed away from the outside world.The ‘Bubble’ ward cares for children of all ages from 0-16 and families can spend between 3 months and two years on the ward. All the Children are having a transplant which involves a lot of chemotherapy which makes the children feel terrible.The Bubble foundation is a charity that helps the ward; it provides toys, equipment, sky TV, internet to the families and children that stay on the ward. The bubble foundation made our stay on the BMT ward that little bit more bearable, they made a genuine difference to me, my partner and most importantly LORELEI. This is why im asking, please give anything you can. I promise you by giving to them you are making a genuine difference to children and families.
