We rescue homeless children from the street to give them a future filled with hope

Story

My 8th London Marathon, taking place on April 22, 2007, is dedicated to Guerba for Good, the AMANI CHILDREN'S HOME in Tanzania.

In January 2005 I climbed Uhuru Peak on Kilimanjaro. It was my first visit to Tanzania and my first to Africa. All my thoughts were focused on the mountain which would be the highest I ever have climbed. What I met was not just the beautiful countryside but the country's people. Our Group of 9 tourists was supported by 4 guides, 2 cooks and 28 porters who all were happy to help us for comparatively little wages. These porters were highly privileged men if you have in mind the countless children who live on the streets of Tanzania with little chances of a satisfying life. AMANI is a small but highly effective charity which cares for street children and aids orphans in Moshi at the foot of Kilimanjaro Mountain.

Whatever your reason is to visit this page - running London Marathon or climbing Kibo yourself, enjoying my website
www.london-marathon.info or the Kilimanjaro Report - please consider a donation in aid of AMANI Children's Home. You can be sure that every penny or cent will be of great help.

Here are some examples expressed by AMANI:

£12 (€18 / $20)  - Feeds one child for one month
£28 (€42 / $50)  - Provides medical care for one child for one year or buys a desk and chair for our new building
£56 (€84 / $100) - Buys a bunk bed for our new building
£83 (€125 / $150 ) - Pays complete primary school fees (tuition, fees, uniform, school lunch, etc.) for one child

Thank you.

Technically hint:
I receive my FLM running entry via a German travel agency. There are no costs for AMANI. Your donation will benefit AMANI by its full amount.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: AMANI will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
