Story

I have got in to London Marathon on the Ballot. It was another record amount of people applying - nearly half a million for 17,500 places. Its also the 40th London Marathon next year. I am so excited to get in to London and based on the points i just mentioned too. I decided to support another wildlife charity - Birds of Poole Harbour.

A note from the charity:

Work is spread across the whole harbour and as we’re not landowners we raise money and invest in projects on other peoples land so work very closely with The Council, private landowners, tenant farmers, The National Trust, DWT and RSPB.

We only focus on investing in projects that we know are going to improve access for people as well as enhancing an area for birds. We’ve got a nice list of projects that are either ongoing or are now completed. They include our 5 year Osprey reintroduction program, our Poole Town Swift City Project, our Holton Pools bird hide and scrapes project, the new Sunnyside Farm scrapes work, getting access to Lytchett Fields open and installing visitor access, the Brownsea webcam project, our school bird boat where we take out over 1100 children each winter on boat trips around the harbour.
