Story

Because of the problems there have been when Justgiving.com updated their website I have moved the fundrasing effort to bmycharity.com, here: http://www.bmycharity.com/londondailyphoto

Fear not, even if you use this page, the money goes to the same place and that's the main thing - thanks for visiting.

(the following text exists also on bmycharity.com page)

I probably need my head examining. On the night of the 4th July - when I could be enjoying a balmy evening celebrating American Independence (or any other excuse) I'm going to be starting off on a 120 mile (200Km) cycle ride, the Dunwich Dynamo. It's not a big supported ride, just a bunch of people (500 or so last year) riding through the black country lanes, hopefully pointing in the direction of the North Sea. Why? Because it's there. I've been drawn to it for several years, but never managed to do it. Seems like a good idea to see if I can't raise some money for a worthwhile charity at the same time.

Now, here's a difference -  I'm going to give YOU something!!! To be exact I'm going to give away two copies of a book with a load of my photos in. Essentially English was published last year, and would make a handsome addition to your coffee table. One copy wil go to the highest single donation and one at random from all donors. I know it won't make a difference to whether or not you support me, it's just a way of saying "thank you", a little better than just an eMail.

So, please sponsor me - either with a one off donation or come back after the 5th to see that I've made it - I expect I will need incentive, at 3 a.m. on a cold and dark night with legs that feel as if they are going to drop off........

London Daily Photo supports Breast Cancer Care

In November 2006, my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer. One year, two operations, six months chemotherapy, two months radiotherapy and we are approaching the stage where all that is left is to get on with the rest of our lives. Helping support others that may be going through the same experience is part of the way that I want to do that

Please help in any way you can - apart from a cash donation here, there are several things you can do to help my effort. Visit my fundraising page to read more. You can visit London Daily Photo here.

The reason I chose Breast Cancer Care is that they use their money well. They were the single best point of information and support that I encountered, visit their website to find out more about them. It is my most sincere wish that you will not have to use their services yourself.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Breast Cancer Care will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Oh, one more thing. When you click through to the donation page, you will see that the minimum button you can check is £10, but if you look, you can type in as little (or as much ;-) ) as you want. All donations are welcome, if you are wavering about donating, why not give £1? If everyone that visited my blog over the last year gave £1, there's be £150,000 in the pot! Go on, you know you'll feel good afterwards.

Many thanks for your support.
