Story
So here we go guys as some of you might be aware I really love walking/hiking and have seen everywhere these June challenges. I wanted to challenge myself with doing the miles either way. Then got to thinking I should do it for charity and try help others whilst doing something I enjoy .
Recent events confirmed the reason why I have chosen NIDAS because they are not government funded. They are local to my home town meaning we could potentially make a difference to someone’s mother, daughter, sister and grandchildren’s lives in our Community.
Domestic violence is something that I’m extremely passionate about something I know has effected myself numerous friends and family members . I understand that it’s not the easiest topic and also makes people feel uncomfortable . But if I could prevent any women or child from having to cope with the aftermath of something with the right support and guidance could of prevented then I will . Recent events have shown me that even years later things can still be so life changing for someone who experienced trauma .So I’m hoping you’ll all support me and if not for me for you own families . I believe not one person is untouchable but I do believe with the right help most things are preventable . One day you might just need that little help so let’s start now 💜
Here’s a little about the charity 💜
NIDAS supports women and families with all aspects of domestic abuse. They believe being free from abuse is only the start of the journey. They support those affected to stay safe, grow their self esteem and go on to build happy, healthy relationships. Their team work in a kind, caring and non judgrmental way, providing personalised support as needed.
So please share any donation is a good one
