Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
The Covid-19 pandemic has had a devastating effect on charities, with the cancellation of thousands of events and the loss of billions in fundraising income. The 2.6 Challenge, is a nationwide fundraising event which launches from Sunday 26th April, marking what would have
been the date of the 40th London Marathon.
My sister Katie is a personal trainer and she has kindly agreed to put me and anyone who wants to join through 26 minutes of high intensity interval training on Zoom this Sunday to fundraise for Making The Leap.
Making The Leap is a social mobility charity that improves the lives of children and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds by raising their aspirations and increasing their access to opportunity.
As most of you reading this will probably know, I work at Making The Leap and have done since 2005 (wow, time flies). When I joined the organisation fresh from Suffolk I was instantly struck by two things; the unwavering passion and commitment of my colleagues and the immediate and lasting impact our work has on the lives of those we help. In all of the roles I have undertaken at Making The Leap, these two things have remained constant and are as evident today as they were when I first joined, if not more so. There is not a day that goes by where I do not see or feel the impact of our work and I continue to be humbled by the amazing children and young people we help!
During this difficult time we are continuing to provide services and support for young people, as now, more so than ever, many face uncertainty about their futures and what will happen next.
Please join us on Sunday and support Making The Leap by making a donation - the suggested amount is £26 but all donations are welcome. If you don’t fancy taking part in the session, you are welcome to come and support.
Thank you :-)
Lucy
