Story
Two years ago, Jess ran the London Marathon. Whilst she was running it, my mum rang me and, tearfully, tried to explain to me that running the marathon together (as several mother and daughter duos had that day) would be the best idea ever. I personally felt that this was definitely not the best plan for two unfit smokers.
A few months later we applied and, of course, only I got a place.
I thought about it long and hard and decided to accept it. I know how hard it is to get a place to run the marathon, especially through the ballot AND the first time I applied, so I thought I should go for it. What a fantastic opportunity to push myself to the limits and raise a huge chunk of money for an excellent cause!
The Cystinosis Foundation is a very important charity that provides support for research and for those with the condition. Cystinosis is a rare degenerative disease that affects the function of the kidneys. My half-sister, Ashley, suffers from the condition and it impacts hugely on her life. Any support that the Cystinosis Foundation can provide (whether towards a cure, or for sufferers and their families) is literally life-changing.

That's got to be at least two very good reasons to donate, so please give generously!
