As someone who has only ever been mediocre (at best) in sports where you get to sit down, dragging myself through a 13 mile half marathon is going to be far from pretty. 

I've chosen to fundraise for Mind because I think the majority of people's experience with mental health (be it personal, or with a friend or family member) is impacted in some way by negative social stigma and lack of access to support. Mind tackles these issues through helplines, raising awareness, and campaigning for funding and education in mental healthcare.
