Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On the 20th June 2007 my Dad passed away from a brain tumour. On the 20th June 2007 I stopped wearing a watch.  Why?  Well truthfully a massive part of me stopped that day, and I realised that the one thing you really do not get back is time.  Life is for living and you do not know how long or short your journey is; so happiness is vital.

My Dad is a massive part of who I am today.  I miss him every day; his sense of humour, the time he took to resolve my problems and make them his own.  His smile and laughter, his solid guidance in times of worry and most importantly I just miss my Dad.

On the 20th June 2007 my daughter missed the opportunity to have a Grandad who absolutely doted on her; she was 2 years old when he passed away.  Truthfully she has never had that role model, and he was and would have continued to have been the most wonderful Grandad that she could have had.

In starting my business in 2009 I designed the logo around my Dad’s favourite part of Seaford; the view from the 18th hole on the golf course.  He was so proud that
all of his family had moved from London and settled in Seaford together.

This year is the 10th anniversary of his death and would have been his 70th birthday on the 13th July 2017.  He never made his 60th birthday as he was diagnosed and passed away within three months which is why I went a little bit crazy for my 40th; to celebrate a milestone birthday as my Dad did not make his last one.

So to celebrate and recognise my Dad, I have decided to face my ultimate fear; heights!  To raise money for the Brain Tumour Research I will be abseiling down the Spinnaker Tower on the 9th September 2017.  For those of you that know me, there have been many a time when I have been hugging a tree or anything else that is stable when facing heights.  I am petrified of heights; however the fear that my Dad must have had knowing that he had a terminal illness and would not make his 60th birthday does not bear thinking about.

My Dad faced his fear of a terminal illness; many more people sadly face this on daily basis.  I would therefore like to try and raise some funds to prevent other families
experiencing the significant loss that we all had the day that we lost my Dad.

Thank you for your time in reading why I am facing my ultimate fear and any donation that you can make will be greatly appreciated.
