At a recent presentation by Warrington-based charity: Hand on Heart, our M62 Connections networking members learned that cardiac arrest doesn't just affect adults, in an average week, 12 children die from cardiac arrest. Some of them without any warning. Hand on Heart raises funds and provides first aid training and defibrillators to primary and secondary schools. This essential piece of kit, along with the first aid training, saves lives. Using a defibrillator within 3-5 minutes of cardiac arrest raises the survival rate from 6% to 74% which could mean that 9 of those 12 children would survive.
We hope that our members and associates will support us to reach our target of £1200 to donate a defibrillator to Hand on Heart and ultimately help to save someone's child.
