Hi to all My Friends and Family,

Having been in Egypt for only a short time has definitely had its share of adventure, adjustments and discoveries.  One discovery that is evident all around us is the great need of funds for this region to alleviate the poverty ,  improve the heath care system,  provide basic education for the young and so much more. 

Tim and I feel drawn to be part of the solution and have committed to help raise funds for an organization called CARE (www.care.com) , whose mission statement is to serve individuals and families in the poorest communities of the world.  Care organizes an annual team building and fund raising event here in Egypt called the BG Energy Challenge. It will be a three day hike along the coast and desert of the Read Sea region.  We will meet with the local villagers and camp.  I am thrilled to be part of an all ladies team that will go by the name of “CHICKS CARE.”

We have a fundraising target we really hope to meet, and so therefore I am asking each one of you to be a part of this worthy cause.  An added bonus is that your investment to CARE will instantly start growing when you make a contribution because BP is committed to match our funds raised. 

In order to make contributing easier via online donations, we are going through a UK website that Care is registered with called Justgiving.com. For those US residents please keep in mind that the US dollar is roughly double the English pound. Also, the tax bonus applies to UK residents where the government also contributes an additional 28% to the charity.
