Story

Swim 1.2miles, Bike 56 then run 13.1. Mad you say?

Well on June 17 that’s exactly what I'll be doing and if that wasn't enough then how about this; the race starts at 06:00 and I hope to be finished by 12:00!

The UK Ironman 70.3 is a half Ironman distance triathlon held at Wimbleball, Exmoor. As well as the challenging distances there's also the hills to contend with. But this sadistic 6 hours of hard exercise has a point….

We’ve all seen the Cancer Research adverts on TV and the statistics are frightening, 1 in 3 of us WILL get cancer at some stage in life. So rather then hope it’s not me I decided to do something proactive and signed up for this tri, I’m hoping to raise as much as I possibly can and would be very grateful if you could help me out.

PLEASE sponsor me anything you can, it all helps and if you’re free on that weekend any support would be greatly appreciated. Anything from a txt, a phone call or a busload of people drinking nice cold Stella watching me beast myself!

I know its hard to get your head around the distances but it’s the equivalent of swimming 76 lengths in a 25m pool, cycling from Middlesbrough to Harrogate, then running the Great North Run!  Oh, there’s also a time limit, you have to finish the swim in 1hour, the cycle in 5 hours 30mins and the run in 9 hours 30mins from the gun. No pressure then!

Thank you
