Story
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a genetic condition which causes sticky mucus to build up in the lungs and digestive system. It affects more than 10,800 people in the UK. One in 25 of us carries the faulty gene that causes it, usually without knowing. Cystic fibrosis comes with challenges, affecting our physical health, mental wellbeing and how we choose to live our lives. But our community is uniting towards the ultimate goal of effective treatment for all.Cystic Fibrosis Trust is the charity uniting people to stop cystic fibrosis.
The Taster session has been designed to give people an insight into Makaton, learn a few signs and symbols, and finish the session learning a song. This is a great intro for those who may want to attend further workshops.
Participants receive handouts covering the vocabulary they have learned and general information regarding further Makaton training and Makaton resources, and a certificate of attendance.
The session is being organised by Kerry Laing, Mum of Piper (3) who has CF, and Sam Stephen, Makaton Tutor.
There will be an option of two 2-hour sessions on zoom to choose from.
Join either:
