My name is Heidi Krutzen and I am a professional harpist. Since I've been young, music has held my imagination and kept me enchanted. Through education and training, I’ve had numerous doors open to explore the depths of this beautiful art form. I have been fortunate that my passion has become my life’s work.
The next generation who will take the world into the future deserve these same opportunities. Yet in a country like Zambia, the vast majority can not do so because of poverty. At Malambo Grassroots, we assist aspiring students so they too can have the chance to turn their passion into their livelihood. This allows them to create change in their own lives, and the communities around them.
Our programs offer school scholarships (elementary, secondary, tertiary, trades), women’s training and focus groups, music scholarships, on-the-ground training and re-training. Donations through
Rose Charities UK www.rosecharities.org.uk go directly to our programs with zero admin and travel costs. We are 100% volunteer run.
For those living in poverty, education is one of the most life-changing gifts. But it is more than a gift. It is vital for the future of the planet. With education and opportunity, the impacts are far reaching — affecting the surrounding environment, health and stability of areas for the better.
We have been very fortunate to be a member-project of Rose Charities Canada for years and we are very happy to now also be a member-project of Rose Charities UK!
Malambo Grassroots is a partnership between European, North American, and local Zambian supporters and has been implementing community assistance programs for two generations. Education
is the key for a bright future for all Zambians, and it is a wonderful opportunity we welcome you to be a part of.
