So, I applied for the Marathon long before I fell from the Great Wall of China and broke my back, pelvis and hand. I feel that I could have easily chosen not to do the marathon, but where is the fun in that?!
Some people will challenge themselves to run it in a set time, however, my aim is to just complete it. It will be exactly 246 days since I fell and 240 days since I had metal surgically inserted into my back. Currently I can walk 1 mile...... so its fair to say that there is a long way to go yet!!!
The charity I have chosen to raise money for is 'The love your hospital Cystic Fibrosis fund'. The Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Trust are two acute general hospitals and one local general hospital serving the whole of West Sussex. With sites at Worthing Hospital, St Richard's Hospital in Chichester and Southlands Hospital in Shoreham by Sea. For more information on the charity please visit http://www.loveyourhospital.org/what-we-do.aspx
My mum is a nurse for the cystic fibrosis children; and therefore I have chosen to raise money for them.
Any money you could donate would be gratefully received.... and together hopefully we can make the target and make a difference to these courageous children and young adults.
Cystic fibrosis is a life-limiting and life-changing condition, which causes patients and their families to adapt their lifestyles, change the way they have to live, make regular visits to hospitals and undergo a number of different treatments. For more information on cystic fibrosis visit the brilliant website: https://www.cff.org
Thank you again.... please share this page with friends, if you have any further fundraising ideas please let me know, or if you are about to come and support me on the day that would be great!
