I will be running the Edinburgh Marathon on 26th May for SiMBA in memory of our daughter Imogen who was sadly born sleeping on 24/11/18. After completing the Glasgow Half Marathon in September this was always going to be my next aim and now I have even more motivation to complete it. SiMBA is a charity, that quite honestly, I didn’t know a lot about until we found ourselves in this heartbreaking situation. The things they provide to help families try and cope with the loss of a baby is truly unbelievable and something which has helped us significantly in our grieving process. We used all the tools they provide in their Memory Box to make sure we made as many memories as possible with Imogen, things we could reflect on in the future. It is down to this we made the most out of the time with our daughter, something we never imagined we could do when we first heard the news. I have chose to run the marathon for SiMBA as I want to be able help other families have access to the resources we had as I believe it helps tremendously. If you can spare anything at all, I would love it if you could help me towards my goal and help other families who find themselves in our situation. Thank you to everyone who takes the time to read this and to those who wish to donate as well. Marc
SiMBA responds to the needs of those affected by the loss of a baby. We do this by donating our precious Memory Boxes to maternity and neonatal units so they can be gifted to parents at the time of the loss of their baby. The Memory Boxes are used to capture the most precious memories, time together, for information our website https://www.simbacharity.org.uk The other services SiMBA provide are support groups, online support, events that bring families together to honour their baby; educational study days to support healthcare professionals.
