I absolutely love running and have completed 3 half marathons previous to this one, but this half marathon will be a special one for me as i'm doing it for The British Heart Foundation, a cause very close to my heart.

I was nine years old when my Dad suddenly collapsed and died from a heart attack, aged just 40. This was devastating for my entire family; myself and my sister lost our Dad, my Mum her soulmate and my Grandma her son.

I work for the British Heart Foundation and see first hand all the great work people do to power research to help combat heart disease, so i've chosen them as my charity so I can do everything i can to make sure other children don't grow up without their Dad. 

I've already done 3 half marathons but i've got a lot of work to do as i've set myself the ambitious target of of 1 hour 50 minutes, over 7 minutes quicker than my PB! So if you see me with a gin or slice of cake in my hand in the new year, have a word ;-)
