Last year I got back into my running due to getting an unexpected place for  The 2017 London Marathon which was successfully completed, later in the year I ran The Royal Parks Half Marathon. On both occasssions I ran to raise funds for The National Brain Appeal / Rare Dementia support.

The National Brain Appeal is the charity dedicated to raising funds for The Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery based in Queens Square in London. The money raised helps to improve the outcome and quality of life for individuals who have a neurological disorder. It will also fund research in helping to provide expert diagnosis and provide the latest technology.

The reason I chose this charity is because in March 2015 my wife Marie was diagnosed with Progressive Semantic Dementia, a rare condition of Dementia. During this time Marie has attended many of the Dementia Support group meetings which have been of great comfort and very informative to us both. She is also helping with the research in London at Queens Square trying to help find a cure for Dementia which is funded by The National Brain Appeal. We are very grateful for all the help and guidance we have both received with our visits to the hospital so this is a small way of giving something back.

So this year my challenges are : Brentwood Half Marathon (March), London Vitality 10k (May), Thames Towpath Ultra Challenge 100k (September), Royal Parks Half Marathon (October) and to finish off the year The Dublin Marathon (October).

The fundraising is going to run all year to take in all these events.

I really appreciate all your kind support once again and I thank you for your kind donations.
