Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page

The Mark Parrish Round is a new 24hr peak bagging round starting and ending in Todmorden, West Yorkshire. I've been working on the route for a long time and just need to commit now to giving it a go. The route takes in several hills and trig points mostly around the upper Calder Valley with some sections near Haworth and some sections over around Littleborough. The route is 70+ miles with around 4500m elevation (give or take) with plenty of rough terrain, route puzzles and bog! I hope that this may become the Calder Valley's answer to the big national rounds like the Bob Graham, Paddy Buckley and Charlie Ramsay.

I've done a walkthrough video of the route in the following link:

I am doing this challenge to raise money for NHS charities. Early this year my Dad was diagnosed with Coronavirus, triggering an intense and traumatic 3 month stay in ICU. I have nothing but admiration and gratitude for the staff that have looked after my dad and saved his life and I'd like to thank them by raising some money to support them. I also decided to name the round after him as I am in awe of his strength of character and unbelievable endurance to fight through it and remain positive throughout. This round doesn't even begin to compare with what he and thousands of other severe coronavirus sufferers have had to endure, so I'm running the round in tribute of that.

i plan to run the round on Saturday 4th September, setting off from Todmorden Town hall at 2am, hoping to arrive back some time saturday evening before last orders!
