A swimming marathon, 10,000m non stop, that’s 400 lengths of your local 25m pool. Does that sound hard? Probably not as hard as dealing with the impact of a head or neck cancer diagnosis.
Following a friend’s diagnosis, and an episode of BBC2’s Hospital, I’ve been inspired to raise money for this worthy cause.
I’m aiming for one pound for every meter swum, and any donation no matter how much will be greatly appreciated by the Head and Neck Cancer Foundation, (charity number 1160602) and will prove motivating to me in training and at the event this November (10th).
The Head and Neck Cancer Foundation was founded by doctors, and supports ground-breaking research into the treatment of head and neck cancers.
