Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Please take time to read all of the below as it's not a simple one time charity appeal. In Fact it started in 2016 and has had to gradually trickle its way in to 2018.
I have never been a runner of note, I ran at school and was pretty good - but that was many years ago. My problem was one of boredom, run a mile, stop, jog back, glad to be home - wont try that again anytime soon.
I started running again, in a very casual way back in 2014, when challenged by a colleague to enter a 10k, and then a half marathon. Surprisingly I found that I enjoyed both events and raised £1100 for Help for Heroes.
I have now decided to go one, or two steps, further and with my neighbour working for Launchpad in Reading the drive to achieve my goal has been cemented.
My challenge is a 10k or half marathon every month of 2016, I already have 6 events booked and paid for so all I need now is an injury free year and some great sponsorship. Please note I am not expecting you to donate for every run, it would be welcomed if you did, but you can pick and choose when to donate, when to wish me well - or save your money for maybe one big donation when I have completed all (minimum) 12 events.
Full details of my challenge and the events I am taking part in can be found in my blog - https://twyfordrigsby.wordpress.com
My 2016 started well with a PB in the Brighton Half Marathon, progress was then delayed with a chest infection that took 10 weeks to clear up, then a painful foot injury towards the end of the year - both of which took me out of a total of 4 events. Recovered in 2017 only to be then taken down by a knee injury. Slowly recovered my fitness and confidence to run again and now plan to finish my promise to Launchpad and hit my £2000 target (with your help of course).
