Flora London Marathon 2007 · 22 April 2007 ·
In a moment of madness and weakness in early January I decided I was going to run the London Marathon in April. British Blind Sport has given me the opportunity to do that whilst raising money for the charity.
I have a two year old niece that is registered blind and I was also fortunate enough to meet a blind gentleman, David, a couple of years ago. I initially met him through work but I now consider him a friend, he runs marathons, plays football for his country and generally puts us all to shame. David is an inspiration to us all and proves that disabilities can be overcome and sport can bring joy to those not as physically fortunate as we are ourselves.
I am sure a few of you would really like to see me suffer, so if you want to pledge a further amount by setting me a time to break (realistic) please do. I never could resist a challenge!
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: British Blind Sport will receive your money faster and, if you are a taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
As you can see this is close to my heart so please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
Mark
PS: Thanks for all your generous donations. Please note I used the word "realistic", regarding time incentives. May I just remind everyone this is my first marathon and I'm 40 this year. Oh and I aint exactly built like a marathon runner!
