As part of a team challenge for the Holiday Inn Royal Victoria Sheffield, we are targetted with fund raising £25,000 for the Sheffield Childrens Hospital - 'Build a Bedroom Appeal'.

The challenge I have set myself for my first charity fund raiser is a 2 mile open water swim on Lake Windermere!  This will be part of the Great North Swim that is taking place on Sunday 14^th June 2015.  

How did we become involved with this charity?

The life of my bosses daughter  was saved by the remarkable doctors and nurses at Sheffield Children´s Hospital when she was only 5 weeks old.  A child that young that has suffered a cardiac arrest makes you realise how precious life is and how we take it for granted.

The Hospital is undergoing a £10 million pound extension to provide new facilities and equipment to help children have a brighter future and the best possible chance in life.

We are lucky that this country has wonderful facilities like the Children's Hospital, however, these organisations only survive through the generosity of the public. Guaranteed without them, my bosses cheeky little girl would not be with us today.
