I did this 10km run in 56.35 dressed as a tree for Levana School Partnership because I like mud, rain and cold soggy clothes (not)

Levana School Partnership

It raises money for pupils at Levana Primary School which is in a deprived area of Cape Town, South Africa. So far it has funded things such as a library, school uniforms, school trips and an extra teacher. It aims to provide opportunities for the pupils that they may not otherwise receive.

Story

I'm raising funds for the Levana School Partnership, a charity that supports Levana Primary School in Lavender Hill, Cape Town. The township school benefits annually from small donations received largely through the efforts of other members of my family. Every penny received from JustGiving is spent very carefully on items that make a big difference to the schoolchildren. So far the charity has funded things such as a library, school uniforms, school trips and an extra teacher. It aims to provide opportunities for the pupils that they may not otherwise receive.

I realise that 10 km isn't such a big deal, but it'll be very hot in the tree outfit, to which I've added some Xmas tree lights. I was originally aiming for under an hour, which based on last year's results would have put me in the top half of the field of 1100 starters, but a knee injury means I won't have been on a run for some time, so completing the 10K in anything close to an hour may be difficult!.

I'm not looking for big donations - if you could afford up to a fiver that would be great.

Thanks

Martin
