On the 3rd October 2021 I will be running the Virgin London Marathon but this year with no fairy outfit. This year I'll be on the championship start for the first (and probably only) time ever and so I am not allowed to get dressed up. But I'll be back in purple in 2022.

However, the reason I am running London is the same and I am looking to raise at least £1,000 for Wishes 4 Kids and that is the most important thing.

So, for anyone who doesn't know why I am doing this again then please take a seat and read on......

I was widowed in November 2004 when Laura was knocked down and killed by a dangerous driver.  In my late wife's memory, Wishes 4 Kids were kind enough to start a fund so that we could continue to raise money in Laura's name.  This is the "Laura Hulbert Fund for Wishes 4 Kids".  This will the 12th London Marathon I will have run for Wishes 4 Kids in a row.

Wishes 4 Kids has been created to grant a wish for children and youngsters in Leicestershire who are life limited, terminally ill, have experienced life-changing physical or emotional traumas, have suffered major abuse or are diagnosed as HIV Positive.  The Charity grants wishes for those of eighteen years of age and below.

Wishes 4 Kids has already granted hundreds of wishes for local children.

Sadly, there is no magical cure for the suffering of these youngsters, however, we can all help bring a short period of respite.  The time when a child has a wish granted is a moment that will be treasured by them for the rest of their life.  It is also a time which parents will remember - that time when their child forgot the suffering.

So come on everyone......give a little, give a lot; but make a difference to a child's life!!!
