My Story
At the beginning of 2018 I was diagnosed with a rare cancer which required the removal of lymph nodes from my right groin. Although this cancer did not make me ill like other cancers it mentally drained me. How did I deal with this? With the support from family, friends and the NHS. Family and friends gave me the support to get through the difficult, worrying times and the NHS fast tracked me during the diagnosis process, surgery and my ongoing after treatment and care.
I needed my mind to be focused on something else, so I decided to sign up for my first triathlon back in May 2018 and completed a further 4 within the year.
Why did I choose Cancer Research UK?
Everyone who reads this page will know someone they have lost, who are receiving treatment or are a survivor and have beaten cancer. The life saving work from cancer research UK has helped save millions of lives and over the last 40 years survival rate has doubled. This is thanks to the great progress research has made.
Donating just £5 can help beat cancer sooner. This can go towards kitting out research labs needed for day-to-day experiments.
I am putting many training hours into swimming, cycling and running to achieve and complete my personal challenge.
Please help by donating. However small, it will be going towards a great cause.
Thank You
