Story

Thanks for taking the time to visiting My just giving page. On 3rd June 2019, Myself, My Dad and My brother lost the most amazing person in our lives Jenny Whiteside - My Mum. My mum suffered a long battle against Cancer, and this horrible decease came to a head in the last 2 years of my mums life, where she had more frequent visits to hospitals for treatment to try and prolong her life. My mum was admitted to Cynthia Spencer on 27th May 2019 for a period of Assessment in order for the professionals to stabilise her pain relief and allow my mum to be more comfortable. As days passed myself, Dad and Dean were told the worst news anyone could tell us. Our mum had only a limited amount of time left with us. My brother Dean lives in America,it was crucial that he needed to be with mum as soon as possible, the dignity, care, empathy and professionalism that every single person who works in Cynthia Spencer gave to my mum and us as a family will never be forgotten. Consultants took their time to FaceTime my brother in the states to keep him fully informed, nurses cuddled my mum, me, my dad and brother at a time when we never needed a cuddle more so. Memory bears were given to all of mums grandchildren. So the three of us are taking on a Challange to walk around The Isle of Wight in 2 days a total of 106km to raise as much money as we can for Cynthia Spencer Hospice in Northampton. Please spare whatever you can to cheer us Whiteside’s on. No challenge is easy but we know mum will be with us every step of the way helping us to smash our Target.

Thank you so very much in advance.
