We breed and train guide dogs to give blind people freedom and mobility

Story

We are running the Cardiff half marathon on Sunday 1st October 2017 to raise money for Guide Dogs UK.  We all work in Mary Immaculate School in Haverfordwest and have a year 6 pupil who lost his sight nearly 4 years ago.  He is desperate to have a guide dog once he is old enough, possibly by the time he is a teenager in secondary school.  We have been training hard for the last six months in cold, dark, wet and windy conditions.  If we've been fortunate, the sun has shone!

However, our pupil has had to work hard to prepare himself to face his future challenges and will have to continue to do so long after we hope to cross the finish line.

If you feel able to support this worthy cause, we would be extremely grateful for any donations.

Thank you for your kindness.

The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of people with sight loss never leave home alone. We empower visually impaired people to do that and rely on the support of the public to fund the guide dog service.
