On Sunday 10th October 2021 (should have been April 2020!!) I will be running the Manchester Marathon in memory of my brother-in-law, Felix Clay and to raise money for the Florence Nightingale Hospice who cared for Felix in his final weeks and months.

Felix passed away in May 2019 after a 5 year battle with bowel cancer, aged 44; he leaves behind a wife and two children aged 9 and 7.

Felix was an exceptionally talented photographer and video journalist who worked for The Guardian for over 10 years and pioneered many styles and techniques that are now common place in video journalism. His obituary in The Guardian, plays testament to his professional standing.

His death has left a huge impact on the family, his parents, brother and sister Caroline (my wife) have found the last year incredibly difficult but have found some comfort in the fact that he received exceptional care from the team at Nightingale's. I wanted honour his memory and provide a small token of thanks to the incredible team at the hospice who cared for him and provided much needed support to the family during an incredibly difficult time. 

So, I have decided to run the Manchester Marathon to try and raise as much money as possible to allow the hospice to continue to provide care and support to other families that will go through the painful experience of losing a loved one, especially someone in their prime.

Please give as much as you can afford, but any donation is gratefully received. I in the meantime will be clocking up the miles and trying to keep the donations coming in.
