Story

Hi everybody, welcome to my Just Giving page!

What am I Doing?

-Cycling unsupported from Land's End to John O'Groats, carrying all our own equipment

How Far and How Long?

-Around 1073 miles over 14 days

Who Else Is Going?

-It's just me and my Dad, nobody else

How Am I Feeling About It?

-Nervous, scared, optimistic, ambitious...a complete multitude of emotions. It's an epic challenge for myself, and for a great cause!

Why Am I Doing It?

I started cycling two years ago, and entered my first triathlon soon after and fell in love with the sport.

Since then, I've set myself challenges to prove to myself just what I can do....this year I did my first 70.3 Ironman, now its LeJoG....who know what it'll be next year!

You can keep up with my progress with daily updates my instragram account --> matt_overs or facebook --> Matthew Overs

What is Leukemia?

-Leukemia is a cancer of the body's blood tissues, including bone marrow and the lympathic system

-It can occur when there is a problem with the production of blood cells, particularly leukocytes (white blood cells) - which are responsible for fighting infection

-Somebody is diagnosed with blood cancer every 14 minutes

-38,000 people are diagnosed every year

-Around 14,000 people die every year in the UK

-Blood cancer is the 5th most common killer

-1 in 25 people in the UK will be diagnosed with blood cancer in their lifetime

How Can Your Donations Help?

Every donation to Cure Leukemia helps to fund a team of specialist research nurses, allowing blood cancer patients access to pioneering and lifesaving treatments through clinical drugs trials.

As a result, every donation made is worth ten times the amount in lifesaving drugs;

-£20 can leverage £200 of the latest drug and transplant treatments for patients

-£50 can leverage £500 of free, pioneering and potentially lifesaving treatment

-£100 can leverage £1000 of drugs

The team at Cure Leukemia do fantastic research, and your donations could make a huge difference!

Please remember to give gift aid any donations, as the Government adds an extra 25% on top of your donation
