George's Giants Leading The Fight Against Duchenne

Story

will run the Boston (UK) marathon on May 31 2021 to raise money for Muscular Dystrophy UK and my fantastic nephew George.

George was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy just before his 4th birthday.  Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) is a life-limiting muscle-wasting condition, for which there currently is no cure.

The impact of George's diagnosis on him, his parents and his wider family cannot be imagined. But they have taken George's diagnosis with great grace and strength and his family want to ensure we look for the positives in filling George's life with love, fun and activity.

I am honoured to be one of George's Giants and help raise money for Muscular Dystrophy UK and George.

80% of the funds will go to Muscular Dystrophy UK research, with the remaining 20% held in trust for George's future care needs.

I have never run a marathon before, and am unlikely to do it again after this training, so I want to raise as much money as possible for vital research, which will hopefully find a cure for this terrible and heart-breaking disease.

Thanks so much for anything you can give. I'll let you all know how I get on.

Love you George, let's do it!

Cheers

Uncle Matt
