Story
I'm riding the Prudential RideLondon 100 to raise money for the Brain Tumour Charity in memory of family and friends. If you help me reach my target of raising £650 before the ride, not only am I willing to ride 100 miles and face the twin demons of Box and Leith Hill (no small thing for an adopted chubby flatlander fond of cake and beer), I'll also endure the purgatory of the professional cyclist and wax my guns/legs to boot.
If I reach £1000? Well... I'm willing to adorn my tiger onesie to become Tiggy Stardust for a week and commute to work dodging police marksmen hunting the beast of the busway so convincing will I be. I will provide pictures of this rare and majestic animal, gracefully cycling through the grasslands and jungle of Cambridgeshire. If I raise over £3000 (yes I'm setting the bar deliberately high on this one) I'll be so bowled over I'll do the whole 100 miles in a tiger ensemble.
Why the obsession with tigers? Why they are my daughter's favourite thing to come to tea.
Thank you for any sponsorship, I know it is a big ask but it really is for a worthy cause. My wife Ali lost one of her closest childhood friends to this illness 12 years ago and I recently lost an uncle. This is also for a brave local lady and her family. There are around 10,000 new cases every year, and although survival rates are improving, I'd like to support this charity to help others beat this dreadful disease and live longer healthier lives. The effects on those with this illness and their family members is devastating, so please support me by either sponsoring me or sharing this page. Everything you do will spur me on. This is no easy challenge for me. It's 100 miles, I'll have to train hard and lose weight to beat those hills and the distance.
I'll be organising cake sales, and Ali has offered to organise an afternoon tea where you can indulge in a variety of beautiful sumptuous cakes. No pressure Ali xx
