Mega Fun Fundraising Day at the YMCA North Staffordshire (Harding Road, Stoke-on-Trent, ST1 3AE) Sunday 6th September.

We had the idea of our Six-Day, Six-Towns Mega Fun Fundraiser to raise money for North Staffs Young Carers. We chose this charity because it not only affected people in our group, but a lot of people our age within our community.

The North Staffs Young Carers Charity supports nearly 800 children in Stoke-On-Trent alone and a further 2000 in Staffordshire. National statistics show that more than 1 in 12 young carers is caring for more than 15 hours per week. Over 92% of young carers say that this has a significantly negative effect on their mental health. The North Staffs Young Carers charity helps relieve this pressure by organizing respites including trips to theme parks, small holidays, discos and many more events.

The YMCA in Hanley will host the NCS Super Sunday on the 6th September. This will be a family-friendly, all-ages bonanza of great activities and stalls. These include: homemade bracelets, cake sales, face painting, carnival games, penalty shootouts, basketball, refreshments, a bouncy castle and a barbecue.
