We support research at St Mark's Hospital to drive clinical improvements for patients

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My name is Meir Zemel and I'm a surgeon from The Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center in Israel. I came to St. Marks Hospital as part of my yearly  fellowship in Colorectal Surgery.

I started running 4 years ago and so far participated in 3 half marathons and 1 full marathon. As a part of my training plan I will run at the Victoria Park half marathon in the beginning of January 2020 and at the Vitality Big Half (half marathon) in March. In the meanwhile I practice 3-4 times a week. My goal is to set a new personal record at the Milton Keynes Marathon in May 2020 and will hopefully run the race under 3 hours and 40 minutes.

For me, St Marks Hospital represents a place of excellence in the field of colorectal surgery and research. I participate in daily multidisciplinary team meeting, surgeries and research as an honorary clinical fellow. I am learning new surgical techniques and discovering new technologies and I will be able integrate these skills when I return back home.
