Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We are raising money for Alzheimer Scotland in memory of our colleague and friend, Dr Gary Morrison.

Gary passed away suddenly on 1 April 2019, aged 52. He joined the Commission in 2013 as our Executive Director (Medical) after a distinguished career as an old age psychiatrist, working mainly in Dumfries and Galloway. His interest in improving services for older people shone through his work, most notably in the Commission’s report ‘Dignity and Respect’, on NHS continuing care for people
with dementia.

Gary’s kindness, compassion and sense of fun will be missed by us all. Our thoughts are with Gary’s husband and his family.

If you wish to donate in Gary’s memory, and to perhaps share this page with anyone who knew Gary, all donations will go directly to Alzheimer Scotland.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
