Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

 

Whilst I joke about the reasons for doing these events there is obviously a much more serious undertone. I think everyone knows I am a keen athlete and have endured my many stories about ridiculous weekend activities but even by my standards the next 6/7 months will be a huge challenge and hopefully an incredibly rewarding one. Since i first wrote this intro i am now going to be joined by my mum on both the Paris cycle and the Great North Run

 

Our chosen charity is Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research (http://leukaemialymphomaresearch.org.uk/) not only because of the fantastic work that they do but because these are conditions that have affected some of my closest friends and family. It is out of both respect for these individuals and their families and based on the life changing nature of these conditions that we hope the little we raise can help the 30,000 babies to grandparents diagnosed with the various strains of blood cancer every year.

 

For those interested I will try to update  this blog on our progress in every event and the training which has started in earnest.

 

The events to date are:

March 24th to 26th - 340mile Cycle to Paris

4th May - 20km running event (Tough Mudder)

25th May - 100km walk/run to Brighton

31st May to 5th June - 250km challenge (Gobi Desert Run)

15th Sept - Great North Run (13.1 miles)

 

I will also (within reason?!) throw down the gauntlet to anyone who would like to suggest an event to add to the 2013 list.
