Story
Based on the severity of the cardiac arrest I suffered, it's quite remarkable that I'm still alive. I owe my life to the staff at Glenfield hospital for their expertise and care.
As part of my recovery I go walking every day to improve my physical and mental health. My brilliant wife (who initially saved my life by providing CPR for over 10 minutes until the paramedics arrived) suggested I use this as an opportunity to raise much-needed funds for the NHS as a way of showing them my heartfelt thanks and support.
Since January 1st 2021 I've walked 485 miles and I've decided that I'm going to walk 999 miles by January 1st 2022.
Whilst I will benefit both physically and mentally from achieving it, it would be fantastic if there could also be other beneficiaries.
Any money raised will help provide resources for the Critical Care department and Coronary Care Unit that saved my life to ensure they go on to do the same for others.
