On the 17th April 2016 we are holding a Memorial Chess Tournament for Michael's 10th birthday, which would have been on the 14th March. As many of you know, Michael tragically passed away last summer following an asthma attack.
Michael was a very keen Chess player who started learning the game when he was just three years old and as he grew up it became a real passion of his. Over the years he took part in many individual and team tournaments and he was fortunate enough to enjoy successes in this field. More importantly, he had exciting experiences and he made great friends along the way, hence our decision to have this event.
We are holding the event to raise funds for a worthy and relevant cause, Asthma UK. Asthma UK is the leading charity for people with asthma, funding world leading research and scientists, campaigning for change and supporting people with asthma.
To take part in the tournament register online via this link (Registration Form) and please pay your registration donation on this page. The minimum suggested donation is £15 per player and any further donations are welcome.
The event is kindly hosted by Michael's School, Westminster Under, at 27 Vincent Square, London SW1P 2NN, and we are very honored that Prize giving will be presented by Mr. Dominic Lawson, the President of the English Chess Federation.
We look forward to seeing you on the day and thank you for your support.
