Story
When Will and Myles rekindled a friendship founded back in 2010, they knew they had to go on an adventure, and raise money for a brilliant cause while at it. It reminded them that friendship is an important part of positive mental health, something that can be taken for granted.
They both enjoy mountaineering and cycling; why not put the two together for an epic challenge? The three peaks cycle challenge is exactly as it sounds; start by climbing Mount Snowdon, get back down in one piece then cycle to Scafell Pike in the lake district, Climb again, continue the cycle to Scotland and finish by climbing Ben Nevis. Nobody said it was going to be easy so here are some stats...
7 days ( 6th - 13th July 2019)
The cycle: 839 kilometers of cycling, 6500 meters of cycled ascent.
The mountain climbing: Scafell Pike: 978 meters, Snowdon:1085 meters, Ben Nevis:1345 meters.
Nearly 10000 meters total ascent.
They will be doing this supported and camping along their route at the end of each day.
It sounded easy over a pint down the pub...
Although Will and Myles haven't struggled with mental health issues themselves, they feel it's an issue that needs further exposure and funding. Mind support over 513,000 people across England and Wales with essential services ranging from supported housing, crisis helplines, and drop-in centres that councils and government simply don't have the funds to support. Please help them help mind continue their amazing work.
Thanks for taking the time to read our page. On a side note, if anyone wants to start a fundraiser for mountain rescue, we feel like we may be making use of their services on our journey!
