I work for a small charity called Church Housing Trust. Every week we give away £6,000 in small grants to homeless people.  The average grant is just £150.

Every week we hear heartbreaking stories of how people have become homeless through illness, bereavement, family breakdown, or debt.  We know how hard it is to get back on track when you have lost everything.  And yet we also know how a small amount of money for clothing, training, a rent deposit or furniture, can make an enormous difference.

This year the demand for grants from homeless people has doubled.  We are entirely reliant on donations, so I am going to sleep outside in the cold and wet on the 30th October as part of CEO Sleepout, in order to raise funds for more grants to homeless people.

I'm not looking forward to it.  However, what I experience will only be a fraction of what thousands of people in England have to go through every night.  Please give what you can.  Thank you.
