Myself, Richard, Adrian and Andy Jolly from Plantronics are taking part in the annual Macmillan Cancer Support golf day, which consists of 4 rounds of golf in one day. This might sound a lovely day away from work to none golfers, however believe me it will be hard work for a worthy cause.
To get all four rounds of golf in within the day means we will be starting at day break on the longest daylight hours day of the year (20th June) at a time of around 4.30am. NOTE: A usual golf round would take about 4 hours in total complete, with the average 6 miles walked. (Oh yes, forgot to mention, we have to walk and not use motorised buggies). Over the duration of the day its estimated that we will walk with golf bags 20+ miles, lose 12+ golf balls each, burn 6000 calories and come away with no less than 4 blisters.
Last years event saw 2000 golfs enter the event which raised over £1 million pounds for Macmillan Cancer Support. This year they are looking to beat that figure so we need your help and donations. :)
